HappyConverter is designed to run locally. We do not upload, sell, rent, or track your data. This policy explains the few cases where we touch information and how you can reach us.

Introduction

HappyConverter ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our browser-based utility tools. Our fundamental principle is simple: your data stays on your device.

By using HappyConverter, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

What we process

Tool inputs (files, text, clipboard) are handled in-memory inside your browser tab.
No uploads to HappyConverter servers. Close the tab to clear in-memory data.
The QR Code Scanner can use your camera only after you press “Start camera” and your browser asks for permission. Frames are analysed on your device, never recorded or sent anywhere, and the camera stops as soon as a code is found.
The Voice Recorder and Screen Recorder use your microphone or screen only after you start a recording and your browser asks for permission. Recordings are kept in your browser tab and are never uploaded.
No first-party analytics beacons or remarketing pixels for tool processing.
Browser processes all data locally using JavaScript - no server-side processing.

What we store

Your recently used and favourite tools are saved as a short list of tool names in this browser's local storage, so you can reopen them quickly. It never leaves your device and you can clear it from the homepage (“Clear history”) or your browser settings.
Your browser may cache static assets (fonts, images) for speed; that cache stays on your device.
No cookies for ads or analytics are set by HappyConverter.
No session identifiers, tokens, or user profiles are created.

Data collection and processing

Information you provide

When you use our tools, you may input files, text, images, URLs, or other data. This information is processed entirely within your browser using JavaScript and Web APIs. It is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party services.

Automatically collected information

Browser cache: Static assets like CSS, JavaScript, fonts, and images may be cached by your browser for performance.
First-party local storage: Only the list of tools you recently opened or marked as favourite. No file contents, text, or personal data.
First-party tracking: HappyConverter does not run first-party analytics, remarketing, or behavioral tracking for tool usage.
Server logs: Our hosting provider may retain basic request logs for uptime, abuse prevention, and security.

File handling and security

Client-side processing: All file operations occur in your browser. We never upload, store, or forward your files.
Memory handling: Files are loaded into browser memory temporarily. Closing the tab or refreshing the page clears this data.
Private browsing: Use private/incognito mode if you want the browser to drop cached assets after the session.
Sensitive data: For highly sensitive work, we recommend using private browsing mode and clearing local storage after use.
No file retention: We do not persist, inspect, analyze, or forward any files you process.
Download security: Generated files download directly to your device without passing through our servers.

Third-party services

Core tool processing happens locally in your browser. However, the website still relies on a small set of third parties:

External links: We may link to external services (e.g., PayPal for donations, social media profiles). Those services have their own privacy policies.
Hosting provider: Our website is hosted by a third-party provider who may log basic server information (IP addresses, timestamps) for security and performance monitoring.
Advertising Partners: We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
No analytics services: We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar tracking services.

Communication

If you email us at subir.hazra.031@gmail.com, we will see the address and content you send. We use that only to reply and handle your request.

We do not add you to mailing lists or share your email with third parties.
Email correspondence is stored securely and used only for support purposes.
You may request deletion of your email correspondence at any time.
We do not send unsolicited marketing emails.

Data retention

Tool data: Deleted immediately when you close the tab or refresh the page. No retention period applies as we never store this data.
First-party interface preferences: Not stored by HappyConverter.
Email correspondence: Retained as long as necessary to address your inquiry, then deleted upon request or after 2 years of inactivity.
Browser cache: Controlled by your browser settings. You can clear it anytime.

Your choices and rights

Clear browser data: Use browser settings or developer tools to clear cached assets or third-party ad storage.
Private browsing: Use incognito/private mode to prevent any local storage.
Access requests: Request access to any personal data we hold (typically only email correspondence).
Deletion requests: Request deletion of email correspondence by contacting subir.hazra.031@gmail.com.
Correction requests: Request correction of inaccurate information.
Data portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured format.
Ad-related sharing: We do not sell user-submitted tool content. Limited browser or ad-delivery data may be processed by third-party ad partners as described in our Cookies and GDPR/CCPA policies.

International data transfers

Since all tool processing happens in your browser, your data does not cross borders. However:

Our website is hosted on servers that may be located in different countries.
If you email us, that communication may be stored on email servers in various jurisdictions.

Children's privacy
