Text Summarizer shortens long text by picking out its most important sentences. It is extractive and rule-based, not AI: each sentence is scored by how often its meaningful words appear across the whole text, with extra weight for the opening sentence, and the top scorers are returned in their original order. Short keeps up to 2 sentences, Medium up to 4 and Long up to 6, as a paragraph or bullet points. Because nothing is reworded, the summary contains only your own sentences, alongside a compression percentage and keyword cues. It works best on English prose and runs entirely in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

No. It scores sentences by word frequency and position and keeps the best ones. It never writes new sentences, so it can’t invent facts, but it also can’t merge or rephrase ideas the way an AI model can.
An extractive summary copies the most important sentences from the source, as this tool does. An abstractive summary is written fresh, usually by an AI language model, and can paraphrase or combine points.
Short returns up to 2 sentences, Medium up to 4 and Long up to 6, whatever the length of the input. The Compression figure shows the summary’s length as a percentage of the original.
Sentences are lifted out of their context, so words like it or they may point to something that was left out. Read it through and add a linking word where needed.
