Lorem Ipsum Generator creates dummy placeholder text for mockups, wireframes and layout tests. Choose paragraphs, sentences or words, set the amount (up to 20 paragraphs or sentences, or 300 words) and decide whether the text should open with the classic “Lorem ipsum”. Presets give you a quick Standard, Article, Summary or Keywords block, and Regenerate produces fresh random text until it looks right. Copy the output or download it as a plain-text file with your own file name. The text is generated in your browser.

Lorem ipsum is placeholder text based on a scrambled passage of Latin by Cicero. It reads like real language without meaning anything, so it shows how a layout looks without distracting people with actual content.
Yes. Untick Start with Lorem ipsum and the text begins with a random word instead, which looks less obviously like placeholder copy.
It is plain text. Paragraph mode builds each paragraph from three to six sentences and separates paragraphs with a blank line, ready to paste into a design tool or editor.
Up to 20 paragraphs or 20 sentences per batch, or up to 300 words in Words mode. For more, regenerate and combine several batches.
