Percentage Calculator answers the everyday percentage questions in one place. Choose a mode — X% of Y, X is what % of Y, percent change, increase by %, decrease by % or percentage points — and type two numbers. The result appears as you type, rounded to two decimal places, alongside the exact formula and a plain-English sentence such as “25% of 200 is 50” so you can check the working. Everything is calculated in your browser, which makes it quick for discounts, pay rises, exam marks and growth figures.
Choose the calculation

Divide the percentage by 100 and multiply by the number, so 25% of 200 is (25 / 100) × 200 = 50. The X% of Y mode does this for you.
Subtract the starting value from the ending value, divide by the starting value and multiply by 100. Going from 80 to 100 is a 25% increase; a negative result means a decrease.
Percentage points are the simple difference between two rates, so a rise from 10% to 15% is 5 percentage points. The same move is a 50% percent change, because 15 is 50% higher than 10.
Use the X is what % of Y mode: divide the part by the whole and multiply by 100, so 45 out of 60 is 75%.
