Markdown Editor converts Markdown to HTML as you type and shows a live preview of the result. It supports GitHub-flavoured Markdown, so headings, bold and italic text, lists, links, block quotes, code blocks and tables all render. The Treat soft breaks as new lines option decides whether a single line break inside a paragraph becomes an HTML line break. The output is sanitised before it is shown, keeping only a safe set of tags and removing event handlers and unsafe links, and Copy HTML puts it on your clipboard for a CMS, email editor or static site. Conversion happens in your browser.
Write or paste Markdown
Type in the source box, or press Load sample to see headings, lists, a quote and a link.
Check the preview
The HTML and live preview update as you type. Toggle Treat soft breaks as new lines if line breaks look wrong.
Copy the HTML
Press Copy HTML to put the sanitised markup on your clipboard.
Paste your Markdown into the source box. The HTML appears in the output panel straight away with a rendered preview beneath it, and Copy HTML copies it for use elsewhere.
Yes. GFM tables and fenced code blocks are converted. Images are not included in the output, and strikethrough appears as plain text, because the HTML is limited to a safe set of text tags.
In standard Markdown, a single line break inside a paragraph is ignored and the lines run together. With the option on, each line break becomes an HTML line break, as in GitHub comments; turn it off for standard behaviour.
It is sanitised: only common text tags are kept, event-handler attributes are removed, and links that do not start with http, https, mailto, tel, # or a relative path are replaced with #. Links are also set to open in a new tab.
