SVG to ICO packages one SVG into a real multi-size .ico file for favicons and Windows icons. Paste SVG markup or upload a file, then choose which sizes to embed — 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 and 256 px — and the tool renders each one and stores it as a PNG layer inside a single ICO. Set padding from 0 to 25% so the artwork does not touch the edges, and keep a transparent background or fill it with a solid colour. A preview shows the largest layer before you download. The icon is built in your browser, so your artwork is not uploaded.
Add your SVG
Paste the markup or press Upload SVG; the SVG preview confirms it renders.
Pick sizes and style
Toggle the icon sizes to embed, set the padding and choose Transparent or Solid color.
Build and download
Press Build ICO, check the preview of the largest layer, then Download ICO.
Browsers use 16 and 32 px for tabs and bookmarks, while 48 and 256 px suit Windows icons. 32, 48, 64, 128 and 256 px are selected by default, so add 16 px if you want the smallest size drawn on its own.
It is scaled to fit inside each square icon and centred, so nothing is cropped. The spare space stays transparent or takes your background colour.
Each size is stored as a PNG image inside the ICO, a layout that current browsers and Windows Vista onwards can read.
