Subtract 32 and multiply by 5/9, so 100 °F is about 37.78 °C. The converter applies this offset formula, and the Kelvin equivalent, automatically rather than a simple multiplier.
Divide the distance in kilometres by 1.609344, because one mile is exactly 1,609.344 metres. 5 km is about 3.107 miles.
The volume units use US measures: a gallon is 3.785 litres, a pint about 473 millilitres and a cup about 237 millilitres. Imperial (UK) gallons and pints are not included.
